As troublesome as it was, Jelani's grief was always short-lived. He found simple comfort in easy distractions, and fishing was amongst those. It was a thought-filled activity which required focus and idleness all the same. As violent as it could be, it was also enough to provide a bit of an energy boost.
His shaking legs had waded in the water somewhat as he cleared his throat, watching the fish as they swam beneath the clear surface; then the voice had struck him. His head had lifted to look at the large tiger. Not a solitary trace of his outburst had remained; it was as if he had stomached it, then locked it away in a dark and sheltered place. That was all for the better. Anger and trouble did not seem to suit his character in the least.
"It can be a difficult activity. They're fast little things." Jelani had smiled meekly. Though he would not say it aloud, he was rather grateful she had asked him. "It would be a pleasure to teach you; though I'll warn you that it takes practice." He had turned his head away, bounding further into the water before stopping. One of his paws had been raised.
"All you truly need to do is watch. Carefully. Pick the fish you want to target, and never take your eyes off of it. Wait for it to be at a good distance, and then ...." His paw had slammed down, the water splashing as he head was buried with it. After a short while, his head had resurfaced, a fish in mouth, which he had promptly cast to the shore when it no longer moved. "Strike."
